Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Bethany Baptist Church is our burden for the world to know our Savior. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas through our missionaries and our financial giving. Bethany Baptist members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as washing the church vehicles, to preparing the church bulletins.

Mission Outreach

Bethany Baptist is thrilled to be part of the spread of the gospel message around the world. We are active in sending missionaries and supporting missionaries with our money and with our prayers. The twelve missionaries from Bethany Baptist Church are located on four continents—North America, Europe, Africa and Asia. Each year, our mission’s committee evaluates our missionaries work and tries to assist our missionaries in their ministries. Our mission’s committee also plans a mission’s conference each year in October to provide greater insight to the congregation about missionary work. Each month we focus on a particular missionary so the church can develop a greater awareness of our missionaries needs and prayer request. We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it means that they move to a foreign country or live and minister in our own community.

Music & Drama

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music and drama cantatas. We have a small group of instrumentalist that play with a morning worship service. Others are involved in the choir. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of Bethany Baptist Church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.

The usher team at Bethany Baptist Church fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, unlocking doors, locking doors, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of Bethany Baptist Church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for God’s purposes. Many of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website in video and audio formats. We also maintain an active Facebook and Twitter feed for additional church communication.

Marriage Counseling

Marriages can be difficult to maintain. Misunderstanding, confusion, resentment, and anger can flare up in any marriage. Marriage counseling is available and encouraged rather than frowned upon at Bethany Baptist Church. It is better to help couples in their role of marriage along the way instead of after divorce proceedings. By God’s grace he has saved many marriages, and repaired broken relationships. Couples have found fresh hope and new joy in a warm and fulfilling relationship with their spouse.

Prayer Warriors

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Bethany Baptist Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, before the morning service, a team of volunteers is praying for the ministry of the Word. Throughout the week, volunteers to our Prayer Warriors team, pray for their pastor, a list of church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs. Each Wednesday, the church comes together for a special time of prayer and Bible study.

Children’s Church

In order to give our children the best Bible teaching possible, Bethany Baptist Church holds a children’s church service in conjunction with the main service. This special time gives kids more opportunity for interaction and learning in a context and manner that may be better suited to their age and learning styles. Our friendly children’s church volunteers are well educated and are burdened for the spiritual development of their students. They have an endless stream of creativity–ranging from puppet shows, to games, to object lessons.

Freedom Fighters

Our Wednesday nights children’s program is filled with excitement. We teach children that they have the freedom to make godly choices. Jesus made a way for us to please God by giving us His Spirit. Through Him we have the right to choose right and to honor Him with our lives. The theme is taken from a child’s view of a fire fighter. Fire fighters are heroic and they go forward when others run away because they know they can make a difference. In a growing antagonistic age towards believers we challenge our children to stand up for what they believe. Freedom fighters involves games, snack, activity sheets, and lesson time to help the children learn in a fun environment.
